Almost every evening I enjoy a beautiful glass of wine. It's either whilst I am curled up in front of the heater pondering the meaning of life, during the occasional bubble bath, or whilst glaring at my naked neighbours in the apartment across from mine - Gah! attraction seeking exhibitionists!
Funnily enough my grandma justifies my wine habit for me by proclaiming "It is for the health!"
All this wine however does leave me with a few bottles lying around. I have heard countless times that "80% of the materials we throw away can be composted, reused, or recycled."
Which provided me with a little challenge - how could I re-use these old wine bottles?

After some research on google I decided to recycle an old wine bottle into a self watering-planter.
I came across some beautiful inspiration and a tutorial for cutting a wine bottle in half using string, nail polish remover and fire! Ahh nothing could go wrong! ;-)

Initially I was going to take photos of the process but it didn't seem sane taking a series of photographs whilst holding a wine bottle enriched in flames.
Although I now have a deceased tea-towel (it *might* have caught on fire) overall I am very pleased with the result!
What do you think?
