Location: The Basilica of Eger (Hungary)
Standing in a mound of wrapping paper her big brown eyes gleamed excitedly, she shouted with joy "Barbie!"
Light began to sneak through the windows lightly rousing me from my slumber, it was morning. Submissively I rolled out from beneath the sheets which clung to my body and I checked my phone - I blinked - Blindly I fumbled around for my glasses and I checked my phone once more - 4am!? You have to be kidding me!
I jumped back into bed fiercly trying to hide from the wicked sun rays whilst cursing the day which had rudely interrupted my time frolicking on the moon. When I was woken for the second time I was welcomed with the smells of creamy coffee, brown toast and a various assortment of hungarian salamis and sausages - I had entirely forgiven the rude morning and I was ready to explore the world! Today my destination would be the small town of Eger.

As we drove through the tree-lined streets I was surprised with how green and lush everything was despite the 35 degrees. Women walked around hurriedly with submissive children grasping their hand and old men congregated near coffee shops toothlessly smoking. Eventually we arrived and I walked around the beautiful quaint town absorbing my surroundings. Then I saw it, The Basilica of Eger, you couldn't miss it even if you had tried - it was absolutely majestic!
Whilst dancing around with my camera utterly absorbed in the moment the air filled with a shrill siren - an air-raid? The sound was deafening and every hair on my body was on end. I was filled with restless anxiousness. Plucking the moment, I ran into the Basilica to take refuge and within seconds of entering my fears melted away into abyss.
With my mouth open staring up at the ceiling it is of little wonder that I didn't walk into someone or break something.
After some time I had to be more wary of my foot-steps, the Basilica was gradually filling with people, was there going to be mass? Out of respect I sat down. Within minutes the room filled with the sounds of the organ echoing throughout the room - the sound was beautiful. How long we sat there I couldn't tell you.

After appreciating the sounds bouncing off the walls we left the Basilica to explore the local market. Every table was filled with an assortment of delicious colours - boxes of various mushrooms, berries, bananas, firm apples and mounds of capsicums. We walked to the car to drive home carrying a watermelon and a bag of juicy blackberries - our juicy summer treat.
