"It is not about the cable" he protested, "it's about the principle!"
Grinning cheekily she responded "I'll tell you what, If you get the Mac - I'll buy the cable for you!"

I was walking down the streets of the 18th Arrondissement in Paris sharing a heated debate. Although I admit I was only hydrated from the bottle of wine we had shared that evening, I was adamant to defend my beloved apple products! Their products were by far superior, their customer service out-standing and how dare anybody mention anything otherwise!? "Apple is different.." I proclaimed "use their products, then you'll see!"
A month later I chuckle at this shared conversation. Embarrassed and defeated - I admit I was wrong.

This started about a year ago when I first converted to apple products. My first purchase was the MacBook Air, followed by the iphone and shortly afterwards the ipad. It is almost as if overnight I had turned into this smug, ignorant and annoying apple user who advertised their products, minus the commission. My views towards the company have now obviously changed.
Apple is not different. The only superior thing about Apple in comparison to other companies, is their marketing and advertising to make you believe they are different.
I learnt this today the hard way. Editing my photos for my next blog post I noticed my MacBook Air was running low on battery. How could this be? The power adapter was plugged in? After frantically trying to discover the cause I soon came to the realisation the cord was broken. I had not even used it for more than 7 months?
I called Apple and although they were professional, they were unable to help me and nor were they willing to provide me with a replacement power adapter. I could however purchase a new cable for $99.00.... WHAT!?
I gave Apple the benefit of the doubt, perhaps it was my cable? perhaps I wrapped it wrong? After reading the 300+ reviews on the apple website I soon realised this too was incorrect. I was not alone.

Still, I haven't had the Mac Book Air for even a year - and the charger goes
out? Unacceptable.
I have (had) my Mac air (for) one year and I am replacing my magsafe adaptor for the second
time . Lower the price if you expect us to replace this every year
After *just* over a year (of course) the charger no longer works. How can the
extortionate cost of a new one be justified? Shame on you, Apple !
If you intend to enter the world of apple, good for you! Just be aware you will most likely spend the same amount on cables as you did purchasing the original computer! Oh and good luck getting either a replacement or refund! [/rant]
