I once had a friend proclaim that strange things happen when they are in my company. Admittedly, we were on a tram humouring an eccentric man who was trying to convince us he was not only Superman AND Captain Cook.. but also Humphrey B Bear in disguise.
Although I joined in the fiasco grinning sheepishly with the cat whiskers I had drawn on my face, I protested this statement profusely. Strange things definitely do NOT happen whilst in my company it was simply the neighbourhood that I had happened to reside in. I did live in St Kilda after all.
Within the space of a few months, I managed to light the front balcony on fire (please don't tell my landlord), I had spent 3 hours trying to remove a possum hanging from my kitchen blinds during a dinner party, I managed to light the back balcony on fire (twice) and somehow I found myself walking down the street hand in hand with a 60 year old Aboriginal Man who insisted I pray with him.
In a group of four we stood in a circle, foreheads touching praying loudly for 10 minutes whilst I contemplated my escape. In my imagination I looked like Houdini, but in reality I was staring pleadingly with my friends who were watching close by in both tears of laughter and horror.
So grudgingly, I finally admit that strange things indeed do happen to me.
My name is Kylie, I am 25 living in Australia and this is my "little piece of internet".
With it I hope to inspire, to share my passions but most importantly to share my journey so we can cry, laugh and grow. x
