She stopped suddenly riddled with anxiety.
"Your thoughts do not define you.." she trailed off forcing a smile "...but, your actions do."

The rain had finally stopped. The air was thick from moisture and the buildings of Zaragoza shed water from their gutters like gentle tear drops. In darkness we fumbled around the winding streets with our luggage in an attempt to find our hotel. We were both tired. When we finally arrived we showered and once more embraced the lonely streets in an attempt to scavenge some food.
Walking into a small bar we had our first encounter with a dish Spain is renown for - tapas. I have had the bastardised version of tapas in Australia, a little plate with two minuscule morsels of food priced at $18 a plate. This however was heavenly and surprisingly cheap - the flavours were rich and the meat was soft and succulent. I could have easily spent hours indulging in platefuls while sitting at the worn wooden bar, unfortunately my desire for sleep was greater.
Rising in the morning we docilely had breakfast and explored the city. We walked through market stalls filled with fresh smelling produce, we past Roman ruins and we ventured into La Seo Cathedral. The alcoves were extravagant and the harmonic sounds from the choir bounced off the walls delicately - the sound was beautiful, so much so I wish I had recorded it.
As the morning drew into day, the lanes gradually filled with people going about their usual business. We strolled along savouring the moment and capturing the occasional photograph.
